BROTES is the birthchild of Enio’s obsession with the primitive line introduced to him by the Chamacocos indigenous people of Paraguay, and his studies of psychologist Rhoda Kellog who investigated children’s scribbles. To execute and capture these two studies into a single drawing, Enio explored different proprietary techniques of tracing the line in a more primal and infantile way. The result was a collection of 350 pieces of colorful creatures that can entertain both adults and children alike. This project led to a one-month solo exhibition at the Costa Rica National Gallery which then acquired 15 pieces into their permanent collection. Each piece measures 14×10 Inches, mixed-media on cotton paper. Each drawing can be commissioned into a one-of-a-kind acrylic on canvas painting of any size.
